AMHERST, Ohio - William F. "Bill" Currier, age 81 and a long time resident of Amherst, Ohio passed away Thursday, Jan. 3, 2019, at his residence.

Bill was born Jan. 22, 1937, in Augusta to the late Linwood F. and Dorothy M. (nee Smith) Currier. He was a 1954 graduate of Waterville High School, Maine. He served in the United States Navy from 1954-1957. Bill was a 1955 graduate of the United States Navy School of Music, Washington D.C., a 1962 graduate of Baldwin Wallace College, Berea, and received a masters degree in 1970 from the University of Akron.

Bill was an educator, musician, and a realtor. He was principal of Central School, Amherst from 1971-1985, taught Occupational Work Adjustment at Marion L. Steele High School, Amherst from 1985-1988, and following his educational career, was a realtor for the Howard Hanna office in Amherst for 20 years. For many years Bill had a band, where he played the drums. Bill had a very fulfilling life with no regrets.

Survivors include his children, Jeffrey S. (Sharon) Currier of Wakeman, Ohio and Julie K. Currier of Columbus, Ohio; grandchildren Erica and Emily Rodriguez, and William S. Currier.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his beloved wife Mary Kathryn "Kaye" (nee Duke) Currier.

A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, Jan. 19, 2019, at Amherst Sandstone Grange Hall (corner of South Lake & Milan Ave., Amherst) from noon until 3 p.m.

Bill is interred with his wife Kaye in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township, Ohio.
