TEXAS - Theodore "Ted" Bennett Kress passed away, Jan. 27, 2019, at the age of 49, in San Antonio, Texas.

Ted was born Jan. 8, 1970, in Wheaton, Ill., to Richard and Joan Kress.

Ted was the baby of the family, the forever mama's boy; with an infectious smile and giggle. He was proud of his heritage, friends and memories from growing up in Maine. Ted graduated from Yarmouth High School in Maine and attended Southern Maine Vocational Technical Institute. He worked as a general construction field superintendent for most of his career.

He loved the simple things in life; the outdoors, grilling, casting a line, hanging out with his dear buddy and neighbor, Carlos, and building a fire anywhere, anytime. He adored his daughter, Lauren (Annie he called her), and current pets, Holstein and Bird (spelled Burd).

Although, a simple life he did not always lead; he had the softest heart and was cherished by his friends and family who were always rooting for him.

Ted is survived in death by his father, Richard Kress and wife, Suzanne; brothers, Michael Kress and wife, Judy, Steven Kress, Daniel Kress and wife, Laura; daughter, Lauren Kress; and former wife, Sondra Gonzales; stepsisters, Kristin Blanchard and husband, Josh, Jennifer Proly and husband, Ryan; nieces, Danielle, Rachel and Meredith Kress; nephews, George, Matthew (godson), Joshua, Michael, Jordan, Seth, Zackary, Spencer and Carson Kress; and an extended family including uncles, aunts and cousins.

Ted was preceded in death by his mother, Joan Kress Pfarr.

His family is planning a memorial service at Mulkey-Bowles-Montgomery Funeral home in Denton, Texas, on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2019 at 2 p.m.
