Ruth E. Dunham
1926 - 2015
CORINNA – Ruth Dunham, 89, passed away Oct. 31, 2015 with her family by her side. She was born August 27, 1926 in Palmyra, a daughter of Manzer and Rachel (Tibbetts) Turner.
Ruth graduated from Corinna Union Academy, Class of 1945. Ruth and her husband Ken enjoyed their trips to Arizona to visit their daughter and son-in-law, camping trips with family and friends, making crafts and working outside taking care of the lawn and gardens. She was a member of the Corinna United Methodist Church. Ruth worked many years as a waitress at the Snowflake Cafeteria, Turner's Restaurant and other restaurants in the Corinna area. Ruth was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother, touched the lives of many individuals, and will hold a special place in their hearts.
She is survived by her son Richard and wife Diane Dunham, daughter Marcia and husband Robert Bjorn; a brother Allen and wife Dorothy Turner, a sister Marie Birckhead and husband Courtney; three grandchildren, Kevin Dunham, Christian Williams, and Kim Dunham; three great-grandchildren, Jack and Owen Williams and Landon Dunham; several nieces and nephews.
Ruth was predeceased by her loving husband of 63 years, Ken, three sisters, Clara Ready, Eleanor Weeks and Virginia Wintle.
The family wishes to thank Sebasticook Valley Hospital, Sanfield Rehab and Living Center, and Hospice for their kindness and care.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday at the Nutter Cemetery, Packard Road, Corinna. A gathering of family and friends will be held immediately following the service at the Corinna United Methodist Church. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Corinna.
