Robert C. Tarr 1932 - 2018 GARDINER – Robert C. Tarr, 86, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2018. He was born in Gardiner on May 4, 1932, the son of Erwin W. and Laura M. Tarr. He attended Gardiner area schools and received his GED in 1980.He entered the military service in the Army on April 20, 1950. He was a Private in Company "M" 103rd Infantry. He worked at Togus VA and retired as the fire chief. He was also the past commander of the American Legion Post #0004.Robert was predeceased by his parents; a daughter, Tina Sevigny; a brother, Erwin Tarr, two sisters, Jeanet Diamond, Francis Moody; and two stepbrothers, Alphie and Melvin.He is survived by his wife, Doris; his three children, Michael Tarr and his wife, Darlene, Cheryl Adams and her husband, John, and Peter Tarr; his grandchildren, Melissa Adams and Scott Peasley, Tiffeney Breton and her husband, Kevin, Angela Bishop and her husband, Jason, and Teah Gee; his great-grandchildren, Hunter and Brooke Peasley; his sisters, Ellen, Shirley and Lorraine, and his brother, Dwinald.Visiting hours will be held Sunday, Dec. 9, from 4-7 p.m. at Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick, Ave., Gardiner. A private, graveside service will be held at Maple Grove Extension Cemetery, Randolph in the spring.
