Richard "Rick" Buotte

AUGUSTA - Richard "Rick" Buotte, 59, of Litchfield, died Oct. 9, 2017, at Maine General Hospital in Augusta after a courageous battle with glioblastoma.
He was born Oct. 14, 1957, in Gardiner, the son of Judith and Barry Buotte.
He married his high school sweetheart, Dianne M. Cote, in Augusta on June 11, 1977. They recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary.
They moved to Litchfield in 1979 where they raised their two sons, Andrew J. and Aaron C. Buotte.
A 1975 graduate of Cony High School, Rick worked for South China Plumbing & Heating Company, until beginning his career working for the state of Maine in 1978. Rick held several positions at the State of Maine including boiler operator (1977-78), air conditioning and refrigeration specialist (1978-79), Plant Maintenance Engineer I (1979-95), Building Control Supervisor (1995-2003), Assistant Superintendent of Buildings (2003-2007) and Director of Property Management (2007 until his retirement in 2011).
Rick's greatest passion was spending time with his family and he recently had the opportunity to go on a fishing trip to the Great Lakes with his sons.
On Aug. 25, 2016, Rick became a "papa" to his first grandchild, Ellouise Lorraine Buotte. She was the light of his life.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Dianne M. Buotte, of Litchfield; his sons, Andrew James Buotte and his wife, Savannah, of Selma, N.C. and Aaron Christopher Buotte and his wife, Briana, of Manchester; a granddaughter, Ellouise Lorraine Buotte, of Manchester; one brother, Jay A.
