Obituary

BRUNSWICK - Patricia A. Coutts, 90, passed away peacefully on Jan. 2, 2019, at The

Gardens in Brunswick, with family by her side. Patricia (Leavitt) was born May 7, 1928 in Randolph, the daughter of Charles and Alice (Sparrow) Leavitt.

Before moving to ThorntonHall Assisted Living in Brunswick late in 2017, and after retirement, Pat and her late husband, Stanley resided in North Fort Myers, Fla. for the winters and in Randolph for the summers, in the home they built and lived in their entire 67 years of marriage.

She was a graduate of GAHS, member of the First Baptist Church in Gardiner, lifetime member of the Rebekah's, member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), member of Mayflower Society and retiree of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).

In 1950, when her husband, Stanley, with his brother, William, started Coutts Brothers, Inc. in Randolph, Pat withdrew her government retirement money to buy the business its first John Deer bulldozer, and she was the bookkeeper for the business until it was passed down to her sons.

She is predeceased by her parents; son, Tracy E. Coutts; and brothers, Robert Leavitt, Richard Leavitt, and Charles Leavitt.

Pat is survived by a sister, Dorothy Benner, of Pittston; three children, Stanley D. Coutts Jr., of Randolph, Susan Hodgson and husband, Peter, of Bridgton, Michael Coutts and companion, Jolene, of Randolph; eight grandchildren, Nathan Keliher (Annie), of South

Hampton, N.H., Chenango Coutts (Rob), of Cape Elizabeth, Danny Coutts (Samantha), of Randolph, Scott Coutts, of Gardiner, Amanda Coutts (Meg), of Lowell, Mass., Matthew Coutts (Shawn), of Portsmouth, N.H., Melonie Coutts (Chad), of Pittston, and Christopher Gordon (Stacey), of Kennesaw, Ga.; nine great-grandchildren, Brooke, Jaden, Camden, Trey, Griffin, Kaden, Taylor, Serenity, and Liam; six nieces and nephews, Jean McLean, Dick Leavitt, Vicki Mcdonald , Billy Coutts, Sally Sirois, and Denis Coutts; and three very special members of the family, Becky Coutts Nadeau, Rachel Millet and Beatrice Lewis.

Visitation will be held this Sunday, Jan 6, from 1-3 p.m. at Staples Funeral and Cremation Service, 53, Brunswick Ave., in Gardiner, with a service immediately following at 3 p.m. Burial will be held at a later date in the spring at the Maple Grove Annex Cemetery, Randolph.
