WATERVILLE - Mary J. Veilleux 79, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday Aug. 8, 2018 at Maine General Medical Center-Thayer Unit.
She passed peacefully with family holding her hands. Mary was born in Waterville on Dec. 7, 1939, the second child of Raymond and Germaine (Brouseau) MacDonald.
She was a graduate of Waterville High School, class of 1958. She married her soulmate Donald Veilleux on Aug. 28, 1959. Mary passed away only 20 days before they were to celebrate their 59th year together.
Mary's greatest joy was her family. She adored her grandchildren and valued time with her kids and absolutely cherished time with her husband, Donald.
Mary was a devote Catholic throughout her entire life. She participated in many prayer groups, and enjoyed many years as a choir leader at St.
Augustine's Church in Augusta.
She wrote many poems and a great deal of music inspired by her Christian faith. Mary spent her entire life as a caregiver and worked many years
at local nursing homes.
She owned and operated a boarding home for mentally and physically handicapped adults with her husband Donald for 24 years. Mary had been
diagnosed with Lewy body Dementia and had been suffering greatly with it.
She was unexpectedly taken from us by a brain aneurysm very quickly.
The family feels that God was merciful to Mary and took her home.
