ANSON - Mary Elizabeth (Beane) Dawes, of Anson, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2018, after a long and courageous battle with multiple sclerosis.

Mary was the daughter of Richard Beane of Anson and Muriel Carrigan of Madison.

Mary was a bookkeeper for International Paper, Libby Lumber, Brochu's Logging and Solon Manufacturing.

She enjoyed writing her life story, She played the piano, organ and guitar and when she was no longer able to play them, she enjoyed listening to gospel music on her computer.

Mary was a member of the Madison Baptist Church for fifty plus years, her sustaining faith and Savior were very important to her and she very much looked forward to the day when she would walk again.

Her family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Cedar Ridge Nursing Home staff for their excellent and loving care, and for the personal relationship they formed with Mary.

She is survived by her lovingly devoted husband, of 63 years, Kenneth Dawesl her daughter, Susan (Dawes) Fickett, of Norridgewock and her husband, Ronald, her son Craig and his wife, Dianne, of Sidney, her son Rick and his husband, Jack, of Auburn; her sisters, Ruby of Powhatan, Va. and Laurie of Roanoke, Va.; her grandchildren, Liza, Hilary, Andrea, Carrie, Joshua, Sarah, Jonathan, Christopher and Matthew, ten great-grandchildren; and a special nephew, Lawrence Dawes, of Jackman.

Mary was predeceased by a son, Andy.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Giberson Funeral home and Cremation Services, Madison.

A graveside service will be held in the Spring, in Forest Hill Cemetery, Madison. Time and date to be announced.
