PORTLAND - Marilyn T. Goodrow died peacefully on July 7, 2018 at the Barron Center in Portland. She was born on Jan. 21, 1934, in Amsterdam, N.Y., to Evelyn and Thurlow Wilson.
Marilyn graduated in 1953 from Roessleville High School in Colonie, N.Y. She grew up in Albany, N.Y., where she later met her future husband, Cornelius R. Goodrow Jr. They were married on May 15, 1954. She was a homemaker and mother of three children. She later worked with her husband in Ballston Spa, N.Y., where they owned the Goodwhip Restaurant and Bakery.
In 1980, they moved to Oakland, Maine, and purchased Goody's Variety Store. A few years later, they moved to Painesville, Ohio. Marilyn moved back to Maine in 1988 following the death of her husband. She resided at Seton Village for many years, where she was a council officer.
Marilyn enjoyed ceramics, art, cribbage and Bingo. She was also a member of Notre Dame Corpus Christi Parish. In 2012, she moved to the Portland Center for Assisted Living.
Marilyn is survived by: her son, James Goodrow and wife, Donna of Oakland; daughter, Robin Harris and husband, Jeffrey, of Jefferson, Ohio; sister-in-law, Eleanor Wilson of Colonie, N.Y.; Tom and Anita Crews of Skowhegan; grandchildren: Jason Goodrow of Newnan, Ga.; Shelby Hondo and husband, Daniel, of Portland; Stephan Harris and fiancée, Jessica, of Madison, Ohio; Thurlene Frowerk and husband, Ian, of Jefferson, Ohio; Cara Harris of Jefferson, Ohio; Megan Flagg and husband, David, of North Yarmouth, Maine; Brooke Burnette and husband, Kevin, of Jefferson, Ohio; Alan Harris of Erie, Pa.; Dustin Burgess of Skowhegan; Lucas Goodrow of Skowhegan; 12 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Marilyn was predeceased by: her parents; husband; brother, James Wilson; son, Wayne Goodrow and his wife Dawn.
The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at the Barron Center and Compassus Hospice for their love and compassion for Marilyn these last few weeks.
Private burial will be in Memory Garden in Colonie, N.Y. at a later date.
