Lorraine (Argraves) Barnes 1930 - 2018 TROY - The family of Lorraine (Argraves) Barnes announces that she went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Dec. 2, 2018. She was 87 years old.Lorraine was predeceased by her husband, Almond (Ted) Barnes; her brother, Stephen Argraves; two grandsons: Dennis Olofson Jr. and Anthony Barnes, and granddaughter Nikki Barnes.She is survived by her eight children: Karen (Barnes) Norrie and husband, David, Allen Barnes, Timothy Barnes, Theodore Barnes and wife, Rhonda, Ginger Olofson, Jimmy Barnes, Tommy Barnes and wife, Jill, and Terry Barnes; four sisters, Roberta Clark, Euda Graham, Sandra Marrara and Joyce Thurlow; 18 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.Lorraine was a member of the Unity Pentecostal Church and North Monmouth Pentecostal Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. She was a member of the Troy Ladies Fire Auxiliary where she proudly held the position of special occasions executive. Her favorite pastime was sharing her faith in Jesus Christ with everyone possible. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and watching her grandchildren grow. Lorraine had a quick wit and dry sense of humor that will bring her family and friends many cherished memories. A celebration of life will take place on Sunday, Dec. 9, at the Thorndike Town Hall, 125 Mt. View Rd., Thorndike from 1-3 p.m. A spring interment will be held at the Rogers Cemetery in Troy. An online guestbook may be signed and memories shared at www.familyfirstfuneralhomes.com. Arrangements are by Lawry Brothers Funeral & Cremation Care, 107 Main St., Fairfield. In lieu of memorial contributions, the family requests that you give a Bible to someone in need.
