Howard Dale Green, 88, of Quaker Road, passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at the Alfond Center for Health.
Dale was born in Blue Rapids, Kansas on November 27, 1929. He was the 8th child of Roy and Hester (Kranbuel) Green.
He grew up in Kansas on a farm raising livestock where he learned to drive truck at the age of 14. He worked in the oil fields before moving to Maine in 1956 where he met his future wife Donna. He worked at Shoppe Ford, Malcolm Cadillac, Wings Garage, and Hammond Lumber until he was injured and went back to school to become an electronics technician, repairing radios. Dale was a member of Hope Baptist Church in Manchester, where he had been attending services for the past few years.
He was predeceased by his wife Donna (Philbrick) Green, wife Janet (Ellis) Green, daughter Joyce Ammons, and siblings Ralph, Vern, Anita, Frances, Roy Jr., Mary, William, and Jerry.
He is survived by his wife Jill Green of Sidney; daughter Karen Cote and son Howard Dale Green II both of Sidney; sister Hester (Jean) Green of Florida; 7 grandchildren; Heidi Michelotti and her husband Kyle of Kansas City, Missouri; Heather Green and Brittany Green, both of Sidney; Sophie Green of Manchester; Kyle Cote of Little Rock, Arkansas; Danny Speak of New York, and nephew Steve Turner of Augusta.
There will be no visiting hours. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, October 10, at Hope Baptist Church, 726 Western Avenue (Route 202), Manchester, Maine. Burial will follow at the Reynolds Hill Cemetery, Reynolds Hill Rd., Sidney. A celebration of life will be held following the burial at Hope Baptist Church.
