Henry Crowley
1932 - 2017
NORRIDGEWOCK - Henry D. Crowley, 84, of Norridgewock, passed away on Tuesday March 21, 2017 in Augusta, Maine surrounded by his family. Henry was born December 28, 1932 in New York, New York.
Henry matriculated from Duke University and New York Law School. He was a member of the Florida, New York and Maine Bar Association as well as served as the municipal judge of the town of Hillsborough, Fla. During his career as an attorney in Florida he was a prominent attorney for the minority community. He was dedicated to serving the rights of minorities and was revered by those he served. He was a general practice attorney in Madison, Maine.
Henry was an avid gardener and snow lover and spent many hours driving his tractor. He was also a huge Notre Dame and University of Maine football and basketball fan and could be found many afternoons cheering on the Irish and/or the Black Bears. Henry touched the lives of many people including, but not limited to his family.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years Elisabeth Crowley; his children Dr. Henry (Hank) Crowley and his wife Gina, Michael Crowley, Dr. Kathleen (Kate) Crowley and her husband Dr. Patrick Flynn and Eileen Crowley, He is also survived by his brother Dr. Herbert (Herb) Crowley and his wife Jacqueline (Jackie); his eight grandchildren, Staff Sergeant Benjamin, Patrick, Gianna, Reed, Marina, Landon, Anna and Madeline; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predisposed by his parents Robert and Madeline Crowley; a brother Robert Crowley Jr., a sister Eileen Crowley; and a son Lt. Colonel Robert P. Crowley.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on April 1, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, Main St., Madison. Henry will be laid to rest later in the Spring. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Smart & Edwards Funeral Home, 183 Madison Ave., Skowhegan, Maine.
