OLD TOWN - Germaine Gloria (Pelletier) Caron, 84, passed away after a short illness, Oct. 4, 2017, at the home of her son and his fiancée in Madison. She was born in Old Town, Dec. 19, 1932, the daughter of the late Noah and Mary Blanche (Currier) Pelletier.
Germaine was a lifelong resident of Old Town, leaving only briefly to support her husband Arnold's career in the US Navy. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and a proud wife, mother and homemaker; devoting all her energy to her family. A source of joy for both her and Arnold was their camp at Schoodic Lake and their many family and friends there.
Germaine is survived by her sons, Michael and fiancée, Michelle Demchak of Madison, and her children, Kyle and Olivia Demchak; Scott and wife, Michelle of North Las Vegas, Nev.; grandchildren, Stacy Bee and husband, Nick, Christopher Caron and wife, Liz, Benjamin Caron, and Jennifer Hettinger and husband, Charlie; great-grandchildren, Catherine and Henry Bee, Elliot Caron, Sirena Caron, and Grace and Fiona Hettinger. Other family members include brother, Lester Pelkey and sisters, Rose Nadeau and Barbara Dupuis and husband, Norman; as well as lifelong friend and close relatives, Vina and Robert Lounsbury. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 63 years, Arnold Caron; three brothers, Norman, Francis and Noah, Jr. and six sisters, Thelma, Rita, Beatrice, Anita, Lorraine and Verna.
The family would like to thank the staff of Tissue's Country Estate for their loving card during the last year, and Nancy and Carey from Maine General Hospice for making her final days at home comfortable and peaceful.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m., Monday, Oct. 9, 2017, at Parish of the Ressurection, Holy Family Catholic Church, Old Town, followed by interment at Forest Hill Cemetery, Old Town. A light luncheon will follow at the Parish Hall.
