CLEARWATER, Fla. - Edward Patrick Sheehan, 82, passed away peacefully on Jan. 10, 2018, in Clearwater Fla. after a year long battle with lung cancer.
He was born in Gardiner on Oct. 7, 1935, the son of Edward Lester and Carmel (Chaput) Sheehan. He graduated from Gardiner High School in 1954, where he excelled in football and broke several field and track records. At graduation, he was the recipient of the Laura Richards prize. He graduated from St. Anselm's College in 1958 where he was very active in campus activities.
After graduation, he went to work for Crawford and Company in upstate New York. He moved to the Bangor area with Crawford in the early 1970's and later moved to Florida where he owned and operated Countryside Locksmith for nearly four decades. Pat was active in his church community and recently had started hiking parts of the Appalachian Trail, starting at Springer Mountain in Georgia.
Pat married Roberta (Bobbi) White in New York on Feb. 14, 1959. Bobbi predeceased him in September, 2014. Pat and Bobbi raised three sons who joined Pat in the family business. He also was predeceased by his parents, Carmel and Lester.
He is survived by his three sons, Dennis and his wife Miki, Derrin, and Daniel and his wife Karu; grandchildren , Addison, Claire, Geoffrey, Corey and Ryan all of Clearwater; and his brother Terrance and his wife Jane of Cape Elizabeth.
Funeral arrangements were private and Pat is interred next to his wife in Clearwater.
