Charlene Pelletier Durocher
1937 - 2018
WATERVILLE - Charlene Pelletier Durocher passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2018, at Mount St. Joseph Nursing Home, Waterville, after an extended illness, at the age of 81.
She was born on May 12, 1937, in New Sweden, Maine, the daughter of Joseph and Rose (Albert) Pelletier, and was a longtime resident of Waterville and Oakland.
Charlene was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and had served many years in the Waterville Ward in many leadership positions in the Women's and Children's Auxiliaries. She served three years in the Washington, D.C., temple of the Church as an ordinance worker.
Charlene was an excellent seamstress and made her elementary school-aged daughters dresses, and devoted her life as a housewife and mother.
Earlier, as a single mother of five children, she supported them in the Connecticut and Massachusetts area as a waitress.
As a beloved wife and mother, she is survived by her husband, Joseph Durocher; several children and siblings; grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, April 17, 2018, at 1 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 50 Washington St., Waterville.
