AUGUSTA - Carmelle P. Gregoire, 93, of Eastern Avenue and formerly of Washington Street, died Nov. 3, 2018 at MaineGeneral Rehabilitation and Nursing Care at Glenridge Drive after an extended illness.

She was born in Augusta, Maine, on Sept. 25, 1925, the daughter of Napoleon Pelletier and Anna (Leclaire) Pelletier.

Mrs. Gregoire attended Augusta schools, graduating from Cony High School in 1944.She was employed by Depositors Trust / Key Bank for many years. Prior to her retirement, she was named employee of the year in 1987.Mrs. Gregoire was a member of St. Michael Parish at St. Augustine Catholic Church, a lifetime member of the Ladies of St. Anne Society, and was a recipient of the Mother of the Year award.  She was also an Honorary Life member of Cushnoc Senior Citizens.She loved music and singing and was a member of the church choir for many years as well as a member of multiple community choruses.Her husband, Lionel J. Gregoire, preceded her in death on June 10, 1996.  She was also predeceased by her parents; a son, David J. Gregoire; two brothers, Richard Pelletier and Gerald Pelletier; and a granddaughter, Carol Douin.

She is survived by her four daughters: Anne Dutton of Augusta, Therese Theberge of Randolph, Maine, Lorraine Douin and her husband, Armand, of Augusta, and Susan Gregoire of Augusta; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.Visiting hours are 9-10:30 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 8, 2018, at Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., St. Augustine Catholic Church, Northern Ave., Augusta. Burial will follow in Holy Family Cemetery, Townsend Road, Augusta.Condolences, photos and stories may be shared at
