PITTSTON - Betty Lou Tobey, 81, of Peaslee Road, died July 6, 2018 at Augusta Center for Health and Rehabilitation after a brief illness. She was born in Augusta on Sept. 3, 1936, the daughter of Frank Patten, Sr. and Alice (Webb) Patten.
Mrs. Tobey was a graduate of Cony High School.
She was a homemaker in her own home for most of her life, raising a family of seven children.
She was predeceased by her parents; by her husband, Raymond A. Tobey, on Nov. 19, 2001; and brothers, Gerald W. Patten and Bruce Patten.
Surviving are two daughters, Kelly Tozier and her husband, William, of Jefferson, and Gina Hall and her companion, Larry Zayac, of Gardiner; five sons: Paul R. Tobey and his wife, Susan, of Pittston, Barry J. Tobey of Bentonville, Ark., Dana L. Tobey and his wife Heidi, of Augusta, Jason A. Tobey and his wife, Sarah, of Augusta, and Tracey A. Tobey and his wife, Dawn, of Vassalboro; one brother, Frank E. Patten of Richmond; 23 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no public visiting hours. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m., on Thursday, Aug. 2, 2018, at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 163 Mt. Vernon Road, Augusta.
