WATERVILLE - Anthony (Tony) Dana Kershner passed away on Thursday Oct. 4, 2018; following a tragic accident.
He was born March 3, 1972.
Tony suffered from schizophrenia with relentless voices that took over his life. With little solace we know he is at peace now and finally with God and all his angels. He graduated from Waterville High School class of 1991, attended Thomas College and University of Maine Orono and was a member of the Notre Dame Catholic Church.
Anthony was a strong Catholic who attended mass often, loved to watch movies and listen to music.
He is survived by his parents, Shirley (Lessard) Kershner and Ronald D. Kershner and his girlfriend, Nancy Johnston of Waterville. His two brothers, Daniel Kershner, wife Stacie Kershner and their two children Weston and Hollyn of Roswell, GA. his brother Trevor Kershner, fiancée Lauren Chan with their daughter, Ari of Clinton, ME. Aunts, Helen Bilodeau and Patty Lessard and Uncle, Terry Kershner and many cousins.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, Alfred and Kathleen Lessard and Roland and Eloise Kershner.
The family extends special thanks to Father Frank Murray, Cindy Lepley, the ACT Team and all of those who were members of his mental health support team.
Services will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 18 at the Notre Dame Catholic Church in Waterville.
Following the service, a celebration of Anthony's life will immediately follow at the Waterville Elks Club, 76 Industrial St. Waterville. Please feel free to bring anything other than beverages.
