1941 - 2018
WINTHROP - Albert D. Libby, 76, of Winthrop, passed away unexpectedly Friday Jan. 5, 2018, at his home. Dad is now reunited with his beloved wife, Gladys, the light of his life.
He was born Feb. 13, 1941, in Portland, the son of Irvin and Marion (Dunn) Libby.
Albert retired from the State of Maine, Department of Transportation after a long career then worked in the private sector until his retirement. He was a veteran and a member of the American Legion, Post 2 in Augusta.
Mr. Libby was predeceased by his parents; his beloved wife, Gladys (Rodgers) Libby his sister, Eleanor (Libby) Flagg; his son, Frederick Littlefield; granddaughter, Rene Berube and grandson, Robbie Drummond.
He is survived by his daughters, Alice Drummond and Cynthia Berube, of Augusta; his son, Ricky Littlefield, of Connecticut; grandsons, Robert Drummond and Fred Littlefield; granddaughter, Angela Pellerin; his brother, George Libby, of Bowdoinham; great-grandchildren, Allyson, Cody, Grace, and Ronan Drummond, Lucas and Cole Donald, Lexi Littlefield and Reese St. Pierre; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held in the spring at the Highland Cemetery in Poland. Arrangements are in the care of Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home and Cremation Service, One Church Street, Augusta.
