PITTSTON -- Charles P. Lamoreau, 82, of Old Cedar Grove Road passed away on Thursday, Feb. 15, 2007, at MaineGeneral Rehabilitation & Nursing Care at Gray Birch, Augusta.

He was born in Hartland on April 16, 1924, the son of Gordon and Frances (Rideout) Lamoreau.

Charlie and his wife, Velva, worked together for more than 25 years in their boarding home.

He enjoyed farming, hunting and raising his children. He also was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Farmingdale.

Charlie was predeceased by his parents; brothers Robert and Malcolm Lamoreau; and sisters Lucy and Edna Lamoreau.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Velva Lamoreau of Pittston; sons Charles Lamoreau Jr. and his wife, Barbara, of Winthrop, John Lamoreau and his wife, Diane, of Monmouth, Robert Lamoreau and his wife, Marlene, of Pittston, and Paul Lamoreau and his wife, Karen, of West Gardiner; daughters Sharon Falvo of California, Ellen Novy and her husband, Cedric, of West Gardiner, Betty Tibbetts and her husband, Larry, of Cooper, and Brenda Degen and her husband, Barnett Sr., of Gardiner; brothers Henry Lamoreau of Bowdoinham and Herman Lamoreau of Hudson; sisters Marion Nesland of Washington state, Lois Tapley of Connecticut, Margaret Nevells of Ellsworth, and Elizabeth Lamoreau of Richmond; 33 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Family and friends are invited to visit from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, at Kincer Funeral Home. A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. on Sunday, also at the funeral home.

Burial will take place in the spring.

In Charlie's memory, donations may be made to the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Maine Avenue, Farmingdale, ME 04344.
