FAIRFIELD - Alton L. Breault, 82, of Fairfield, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Feb. 21, 2014, with his daughter, son-in-law and a family friend by his side.

Al was born in Waterville on Dec. 21, 1931, the son of the late Arthur and Rose (Gurney) Breault. He graduated from Waterville High School, class of 1950.

After graduation, Alton worked a short time at C.F. Hathaway before joining the Air Force in 1951 and was stationed in Georgia, California and Korea until 1955, at which time he returned to C.F. Hathaway where he worked for a total of 42 years.

Before entering the service, Al married the love of his life, Carmen Michaud, in 1951 and they were married for 55 years until her passing in 2006. All who knew Al and Carmen were aware of their inseparable bond, including working together at C.F. Hathaway which gave them the opportunity to travel to Puerto Rico on business.

Al's camp on China Lake was the highlight of his summers. The family enjoyed boating, fishing, barbecuing and campfires with extended family and friends. Alton was a natural born handyman and truly enjoyed puttering around the camp doing his projects.

Alton was a member of the Waterville Elks Post 905 in Waterville and the American Legion Post 14 in Fairfield.

Alton was predeceased by his son, Allan Breault; daughter-in-law, Terri Breault; granddaughter, Lisa Breault; a sister, Germaine Horvath; a brother, Ralph Breault; and a great-great-grandaughter, Savanna Soucy.

Survivors include his daughter, Deanna Parsons and her husband, Rick; two grandchildren, Jamie Parsons and Julie Fitzgerald and her husband Derek; four great-grandchildren, Racheal and Brianna Soucy, Kylie and Adam Fitzgerald; and great-great-grandaughter, Natalia Huff; a twin brother, Milton Breault and his wife, Barbara; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Al will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

A special thank-you to the MaineGeneral Hospice team for their tender care.
