AUGUSTA -- Joseph R. Drapeau, 27, of Augusta passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 14, at home. He was born in Hartford, Conn., on Nov. 15, 1985, a son of Robert and Monique (Piteau) Poulin.

Joe graduated from Cony High School, class of 2003. Joe wore his heart on his sleeve. He loved his family and friends. He was always willing to help others. One of his passions was learning to become an electrician. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and the outdoors. He loved spending time singing with his mother, "Wild Horses," and dancing with her to music that soothed him.

Joe was predeceased by his grandfather, Robert P. Piteau Sr., his uncle, Robert P. Piteau Jr., and his cousin, Scott Poulin, all of Augusta.

He is survived by four children, his three sons, Timothy Howe, of Gardiner, and brothers Leon Hamel and Joseph Drapeau, both of South Carolina, and his daughter, Arabella Drapeau, of Bangor. He is also survived by his brother, Daniel Drapeau, and his grandmother, Lorraine Piteau, both of Gardiner; his uncle, Babe, of Augusta; his uncle, Mike, Aunty Patty and cousins Mike and Lauren Piteau and Philip Szabo, all of Connecticut.
