WINSLOW -- Gerard F. Audet of Winslow, 68, died Jan. 11, 2013, at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Waterville, following a period of declining health, with his wife by his side.

He was born in Westbrook on Sept. 26, 1944, to Emile and Bertha Audet. He was educated in Portland and Waterville schools. He served in the Army from 1961 to 1967, seeing tours of duty in Korea and Germany. In 1963, he married the former Evelyn Veilleux. After the Army, he went to work at Scott Paper Co., where he stayed until it closed.

He was predeceased by his parents, a sister and a brother. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn, of Winslow; daughter Lisa Hanson, of Winslow; son Gary and wife Sonel, of Bellingham, Mass.; four grandchildren; four sisters; and one brother.

Arrangements are under the care of Direct Cremation of Maine, Belfast. At Gerard's request, there will be no funeral service. Burial will be in the spring at the convenience of the family.
