1946-2014

VALE, N.C. - Edward R. Spaulding, 68, passed away at his home in Vale, N.C., on August 13, 2014, after a long and courageous battle with lung cancer.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 16, 2014, in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 3:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Other services in Madison, Maine will be held at a later date.

He was born July 16, 1946, in Madison, Maine, and a graduate of Madison Memorial High School Class of 1965. Ed served in the U.S. Air Force and is a Vietnam veteran. He lived in Pinellas Park, FL and Vale, NC where he was a cabinet maker.

He is predeceased by his parents, Martelle Spaulding and Thelma Spaulding (Mitchell).

Ed is survived by his beloved high school sweetheart, Sharon Spaulding; his loving daughter Cindy Spaulding of Belmont, NC; two longtime kitty companions, Punky and Bear; two sisters, Audrey Merrow and husband Lawrence, Sr. of Belgrade, ME and Ruth Monfils and husband Kenneth of Charlotte; one brother, Clyde Spaulding and wife Marjorie of Madbury, NH; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Heartfelt thanks to all who so compassionately aided in the care and support for him and his family.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Habitat for Humanity.
