WHITEFIELD - Ryan Wayne Mullens, 16, of Whitefield, died Monday, June 23, 2014, at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta following an accident. He was born in Augusta, the son of Wayne and Stacy Savage Mullens.

Ryan was an amazing young man full of life, spirit and spunk. Our memories of Ryan will live on forever for all who he encountered. He was an "old soul" his mother Stacy would say. Anyone who was blessed to know Ryan knew he wore his heart on his sleeve. If you were loved by Ryan he was your protector, your overseer, your guardian angel, or even your little BIG brother.

One of Ryan's many gifts was bartering. He could turn a walkman into an iPod and an Atari into an Xbox with money to spare and make you feel you got the better deal. Each day, Ryan loved to be outside working with his dad Wayne at "Mullens and Son Lawn Care." He loved snowmobilin', four-wheelin' and big jacked up GM trucks, and if it had a motor, Ryan could drive it at an early age. No matter what time of year, four-wheeling was his true passion. Give him a swamp, some mud, or a pile of dirt and you will find Ryan riding like "You Only Live Once"(YOLO).

Ryan is predeceased by his great-grandfather Joseph Brann; great-grandfather Richard Norton Sr.; great-grandfather Carroll A. Mullens; grandfather Carroll Mullens Sr.; uncle Ronald Savage Jr.; uncle Timothy Norton; and cousin Caleb Waldron.

Ryan is survived by his mother, Stacy Savage, of Oakland; his father, Wayne Mullens, and his significant other, Shannon Baron, of Whitefield; his sisters, Jordon Mullens, of Augusta, and Aubrey Collier, of Oakland; stepbrother Zachary Collier, of Belfast; grandmother Jeanne Brann, of Oakland; grandfather Sonny Tisdale, of Florida; grandmother Laurie Mullens and her significant other, Richard Cummings, of Whitefield; great-grandmother Marian Brann, of Augusta; great-grandmother Eugenia Norton, of Whitefield; aunt and uncle JoLynn and Kerry Bryant, of Dresden, and children Lake Bellavance, Emily Markham and Shyanne Bryant; aunt and uncle Nikki and Ron Goodheart, of Oakland, and children Callie Fowler and Riesling Goodheart; aunt and uncle Kelley and Derek Mullens, of Windsor, and children Thomas and Brylee; and many great aunts, great uncles, cousins and loved ones. He will be missed by all.
