1937 - 2017
BREWER - Violet Doughty, 80, of Brewer, formerly from Jackman, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2017, after a long illness, surrounded by her children.
Violet was born on February 1, 1937, to Pearl and Aime Falardeau. In addition to raising her family, Violet spent many years caring for others at the Jackman Health Center as a CMA. She enjoyed the outdoors and in particular, fly fishing and bird hunting.
She was predeceased by her parents, Aime and Pearl Falardeau; her husband, Sidney Doughty; and her fishing and hunting companions, Alton Hall (brother-in-law) and Edgar Falardeau (uncle), all of Jackman.
Violet leaves behind her loving sister and lifelong best friend Laurentia Hall, of Waterville; daughter Sonja Doughty Carter and husband Gary, of Hampden; sons William Doughty and wife Cindy, of Plant City, Fla.; and Lee Doughty and wife Donita, of Anchorage, Alaska; her grandchildren, Preston Maheu and wife Nancy, of Glenburn; and Aaron Maheu and wife Kristi, also of Glenburn; Trista Doughty Contorno and husband John, of Northport, Fla.; Janelle Doughty McRoberts and husband Brian, of Plant City, Fla.; Leslie Carter, of Hampden; Shannon and wife Lauren Forrest, of High Springs, Fla.; Ryan and Meagan Forrest, of Panama City, Fla.; Ryan and Nikole Doughty, of Rochester, N.H.; Jeremy Doughty, of Anchorage, Alaska; several beautiful great-grandchildren; her beloved nieces, Pam-Hall Grodin, Deborah Hall-Irwin, Kelly Hall, and Carrie Hall-Harvey; and dear to her heart her nephew Keith Hall; her cousin, Donna Leland, of Bangor; and Jimmy Maheux, of Belfast; several cousins with whom she had loving, life long relationships.
Her children would like to thank everyone for the kindness and love given to our mother during the time she was ill. To the dedicated staff of St. Josephs and EMMC hospitals, a heartfelt thank you for the care and compassion.
A Memorial Mass will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Giberson Funeral Home, Bingham.
