Tennie Annette Miracle-Gleason
1937 - 2017
MANCHESTER - Tennie Annette "Anne" Miracle-Gleason, 80, passed peacefully Tuesday morning, Oct. 3, 2017, at her farm house, the place where she wanted to be with her family. A choir of angels has welcomed this remarkable woman to the splendor of heaven, escorted by the love of her life, her predeceased husband of 49 years, Edward D.A. Gleason.
She was born in Kitts, Ky., on Feb. 28, 1937, the daughter of the late Roy A. and Mildred G. (Sproles) Miracle.
Mrs. Miracle-Gleason had been employed by Sears Roebuck Company for 20 years, retiring as head of sales in the hardware department. She also worked part-time for Central Maine Power as a telemarketer.
Her real passion and love was being a wife, mother, and Nana to her grandchildren.
Mrs. Miracle-Gleason is survived by two sons, Edward D. Gleason, Jr. of Winthrop and Niall Gleason of Hallowell; five daughters, Tennie Shardlow of No. Yarmouth, Kathleen Cassidy of Winslow, Bridget Brozyna of Grand Rapids, Mich., Nora Gleason-Dore of Manchester and Geneva Eldridge of Augusta; her sister Mary Cheever of Ft. Myers, Fla.; and several nieces, nephews; cousins; and known as "Nana" to her 18 grandchildren; and great-grandchild, who she loved each and every one in her own special way.
Anne's family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Guzetti and the staff at Kennebec Internal Medicine, Dr. Teuful and Maine Medical Partners, Hannaford Pharmacy team, Michelle and Bobbi for the personal care, Mike at EIM, Trish and Paige, Meals-on-Wheels and its volunteers, all the Hospice team including Rene, Chris, Jean, Shelby, Dodi, and all those individuals and agencies who worked effortlessly together to help fulfill Mom's wish to be home.
Relatives and friends may visit from 10 a.m.-noon on Saturday, Oct. 7, 2017, at Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta. A graveside service will follow at 12:30 p.m. at St. Mary's Cemetery, Western Avenue, Manchester.
In her loving memory, take a moment to stop and enjoy the beauty of a flower, or bring your loved one out to eat, as Nana's kitchen was always open. Condolences, stories and photos may be shared through the funeral home website at: www.plummerfh.com.
"Pennies from Heaven"
I found a penny today, just lying on the ground. But it's not just a penny this little coin I found. Found pennies come from heaven, angels toss them down. Sometimes just to cheer you up, to make a smile out of your frown. So don't pass by that penny when you're feeling blue. Know that penny comes from heaven; your Mom/Nana tossed one down to you.
