Rudolph "Rudy" Curtis Trundy
1927 - 2018
CHELSEA - Rudolph "Rudy" Curtis Trundy, 90, of Chelsea, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2018, at the Marshwood Center, in Lewiston. He was born in Searsport on June 14, 1927, the son of Clarence and Lucy (Curtis) Trundy.
Rudy lived in Chelsea most of his life, and served in the US Army. He worked as a general mechanic and a licensed welder for the State of Maine.
He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting, camping, and snowmobiling. He also loved bowling and belonged to a mixed bowling league. Rudy was a member of the Barnstormers Snowmobile Club, and the American Legion, Post #2. Rudy could be found on most days sitting on his deck watching the cars pass by and enjoying his love of birds.
Rudy is predeceased by his parents, Clarence and Lucy; his beloved wife of 42 years, Helen Russell Trundy; and a son, Joseph G Katula Jr.
He is survived by three children, Eugene Trundy of Gardiner, Bev Lombard of Sabattus, and Betty Lessard and husband Bertrand of British Columbia Canada; a sister Natalie Curtis and husband Dennis of Searsport; nine grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; nieces, and nephews.
A graveside service with full military honors will be held at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) on July 16, 2018, at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 163 Mt. Vernon Rd., Augusta.
