Just a couple years later, during a drive back home to Maine, they stopped in at a church in Saugus, Mass., and were married. They enjoyed 53 years of marriage, traveling and building a life together in Skowhegan.

He was employed by American Export Co. for 10 years. Following that, he spent two summers working at the Lakewood Theatre, and then at Darling's Auto Parts.
