Robert "Bob" Jean Cowette
1932 - 2018
SANGERVILLE - Robert "Bob" Jean Cowette, 85 of Sangerville, passed April 30, 2018 in Dover-Foxcroft.
He was born June 3, 1932, in Skowhegan, to Alton Frank and Beulah (Lambert) Cowette. Bob graduated from Skowhegan High School, Class of 1952.
He was drafted into the Army in 1953. On July 1, 1961, he married Vyrona (Todd) Cowette. He worked for Norrwock Shoe for over 30 years until he became disabled. In Bob's younger years, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, picking berries and fiddleheads with his family. In later years, he enjoyed putting puzzles together. Even though he was disabled, he always had a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye.
Bob is survived by his wife of 56 years, Vyrona Cowette; two daughters, Roberta Draper and husband, Mike, and Jody Noiles and husband, Lorne; three grandsons: Dana, Trapper and Dwight Noble; two step-grandchildren, Travis Noiles and Heather Cookson; three great-grandchildren and three great-stepgrandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a son, Craig Cowette; both parents; his in-laws Glendon and Alice Todd; a sister, Rita and her husband, Lloyd (Runt) Knowles; three sisters-in-law and one great-stepgrandson.
A graveside service will be held Saturday May 12, 2018 at 2:00 p.m., Southside Cemetery in Skowhegan. Memories and condolences may be shared at www.directcremationofmaine.com.
