Richard Laurier Languet
1953 - 2017
TROY - Richard Laurier Languet, 64, passed away Wednesday Nov. 22, 2017, in his home. He was born in Waterville, on July 13, 1953, the son of Laurier F. and Doris Lucille (Tyler) Languet.
Richard was educated in local schools and was a 1971 graduate of Waterville High School and formerly employed as a pipe fitter at Scott Paper Co. in Winslow.
Richard loved all things related to motorcycles and riding. He would often take his beloved dog "Jackie" on motorcycle rides with him.
He enjoyed gathering with family and friends, listening to music and collecting eclectic objects, art and memorabilia. He will be most remembered by his unique character, obscure humor and HUGE heart.
He was predeceased by his parents; and three brothers, Michael, Randy and Timmy Languet; and his dog Jackie.
Richard is survived by his two daughters, Loretta Languet DiMario, husband Andy and son, Drew DiMario of Vermont and Angel Languet and partner Jesse Willett and son, Zander Michael Laurier Willett of China; two sisters, Angela Latno and husband Richard of Sidney and Desiree Languet Thompson of Albion, two brothers, Joseph Languet of Waterville and Jim Languet of Ohio, and his ex-wife Judy Languet of China who was the mother of his children. Richard is also survived by many nieces and nephews whom he loved but he had a strong bond with his nephew Lucas Languet who shared his passion for motorcycles and riding.
There will be no public visitation. Cremains will be buried in the family plot in St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, Grove Street Waterville.
A celebration of life will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday December 9, 2017 at The Hall at 255 Trafton Road Waterville. All friends and family are welcome.
