Richard Kendall Dunn
1932 - 2017
MOUNT VERNON - Richard Kendall Dunn, 84, of Mount Vernon, graduated from this world to be with his Lord on Sept. 2, 2017, at home with his loving family by his side. He was born on Dec. 21, 1932 in Gardiner. He worked at Inmont and owned his own service station in Winthrop. He was past president of the Men's Full Gospel Businessmen's Association, the Augusta Chapter and was an active member for many years. There was always a song on his lips. He enjoyed tinkering on small engines, woodworking, fishing and gardening. He especially loved spending time with his family and friends and talking about his Savior.
Richard was predeceased by his parents, Merton Christopher Dunn and Mary Della Kendall Dunn; brothers Harold (Bus), Kenneth, Clifton, and sisters Mary Helen Cunningham, Rachel Lint, and Avis Butman.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, lona Mae (Rogers) Dunn; his children, Brenda Barber and her husband Bob, Debbie Richards and her husband, Peter; Rhonda Easter, Lawrence Dunn and his wife, Sharon, Darlene French and her husband, Leslie, Penny French and her husband, Lawrence, Richard Q. Dunn, Bruce Dunn and his wife, Michelle; 19 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews; and cousins. He is also survived by three siblings, Evelyn Spillman and Lorraine Galouch, and Ronald Dunn.
There will be a celebration of life at Dunn's Corner Baptist Church in Mount Vernon on Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017 at 10 a.m. with a reception following at the church. Burial will be at a later date.
