Marie Antoinette Conway
1939 - 2017
SKOWHEGAN - Marie A. Conway, 77, died Feb. 11, 2017, at her Skowhegan residence after a short illness from complications of breast cancer. She was born Sept. 2, 1939, in Dexter, the oldest child of Joseph and Eva (Fanjoy) Chabot.
Marie graduated from N. H. Fay High School, Class of 1957. She retired from Redington-Fairview General Hospital in 2001 where she worked as a Medicare clerk. Marie loved family gatherings especially the annual summer Christmas celebration at Don and Elaine's and family Thanksgiving in Freeport-her children and grandchildren feel so blessed to have all been together with her in November.
She spent many wonderful winters in Seminole, Fla. with Newell. She enjoyed knitting and made countless pairs of mittens over the years, loved to read and do the daily crossword puzzle.
Marie was predeceased by her parents; brother David Chabot and brother-in-law James Edgecomb. She is survived by her children, Andy and wife Kim of Greenville, Alan and wife Angela of Belmont, NH, Eric and wife Michelle of Bangor, and Laurie and husband Steven Sweet of Augusta; her siblings, Roland and wife Suzanne Chabot of Ripley, Richard and wife Diane Chabot of Durham, Beverly Edgecomb of Dexter, and Elaine and husband Don Hawthorne of Gray; her grandchildren, Adam and wife Jenny Conway, Jordan Conway, Alex Conway, Shannon Conway, Cameron Conway, Danyel Conway, and Austin Conway; her partner, Newell Graf, Sr. and his family; a special cousin Betty Chabot of Dexter; special aunts Rita Clukey and Florence Gould of Dexter; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Dr. Timothy Malyk, the staff at Redington-Fairview General Hospital and MaineGeneral Hospice for their compassionate care.
A graveside committal service will be held at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter, in the spring. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport. Those who wish may leave written condolences at
