WATERVILLE -- Juanita Blackwood Case, of Waterville, died in Waterville on June 14, 2013, at Oak Grove Center on Cool Street in Waterville.

She was born in Pembroke on April 19, 1922, the daughter of the late Lester and Lettie (Hilton) Blackwood. The family moved to Waterville in 1925. Mrs. Case attended Waterville High schools until 1937 when the family moved back to Pembroke. She graduated from Pembroke High School in 1939. She attended St. Stephen Business College in St. Stephen, New Brunswick, and later worked in Pembroke as the local telephone operator for Eastern Telephone and Telephone Co. She came to Waterville in 1942 and worked there for 17 years as an operator for New England Telephone and Telephone Co. She worked as an operator at Camp Miles Standish in Taunton, Mass., from 1944 to 1945.

She married Lester B. Case on Oct. 17, 1954, in Waterville. He died on May 17, 1998.

Mrs. Case was a member of the Fairfield Historical Society for its inception in 1972. Also, in 1972, she formed with a fellow antique enthusiast, the antique study group, "Heritage Club." She was a member of the Waterville-Oakland Button Club since 1964, holding all its offices for many years. She was also a member of the Pembroke Historical Society.

Survivors are a sister, Mary Jane Graves, of Ellsworth; niece Beth Partridge and her husband, John, and sons Jensen and Jordon Rich, of Ellsworth; nephew Richard Graves and his wife, Keri, and son Bohdan, of Whitefish, Mont.; and nephew Keith Graves and his wife, Nancy, and children Oksana, Tess, and Eric, of Bar Harbor.

There will be no funeral service. Private burial will be at Maplewood Cemetery in Fairfield, at the family's convenience. An online guest book may be signed and memories shared at: www.lawrybrothers.com
