Jane Karen Andersen Dunn
1933 - 2018
AUGUSTA - Jane Karen
Andersen Dunn, 85, formerly of Augusta, went home to her Lord, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, April 3, 2018. At the time of her passing, she resided at Augusta Center for Health and Rehabilitation in Augusta.
She was born in Quincy, Mass. on Feb. 18, 1933, the daughter of Veggo and Maud Esther Andersen. Mrs. Dunn graduated from Gardiner Area High School where she was a member of the National Honor Society. During her life she worked as a stenographer, a secretary at an accounting firm and a Ward Clerk at the Veterans Administration Medical and Regional Office Center at Togus.
Mrs. Dunn loved to play the piano and work in her flower gardens. She also loved to sing and was a member of several church choirs throughout her life. She had a number of pets, but her favorite pets were her two parakeets, Yacky and Tweety. She loved spending time with friends and family. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who deeply loved and cared for her family. Her family has wonderful memories of their times together and will miss her greatly. At the time of her passing, she was a member of Calvary Foursquare Church in Gardiner.
She is survived by her son, Steven Richard Dunn and his wife Sandra Leinonen-Dunn of Chelsea, her daughter Rev. Susan Jane (Dunn) Wynn and her husband Rev. Jeffrey R. Wynn of Waynesboro, Va.; her brother Edward Andersen and his wife Nancy Andersen of Port St. Lucie, Fla., sister-in-law Marjorie Andersen of Dunedin, Fla.; grandsons Ryan C. Dunn and his wife Dr. Lauren Dunn of Charlottesville, Va. and Shane M. Dunn and his wife Dr. Samantha Dunn of Philadelphia, Pa.; great-grandsons Connor and Camden Dunn of Charlottesville, Va.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Dunn was predeceased by her husband of 31 years, Richard Calvin Dunn, her sisters Thelma Merchant and Pauline Corbett, and a brother Earl Andersen.
Amidst their sorrow, her family rejoices because she is with the Lord, and she is free of the physical limitations she experienced in her later years. Mrs. Dunn wanted everyone to know that she came to know and experience Jesus Christ personally, and beseeches you to come to Him, for today is the day of salvation.
Arrangements for a home going service at the Calvary Foursquare Church will be announced shortly. Online condolences may be sent to www.funeralalternatives.net
