1944 - 2016
RICHMOND - James Keefe Blair, 71, of Richmond, died unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, Jan. 28, 2016, with his wife, daughter and his best friend Phil Barry, at his side. He was born in Dresden on Nov. 14, 1944, the son of Bidwood and Doris (Cook) Blair.
He was predeceased by his parents; a brother Bidwood Blair; sisters Ramona Morrell and Pauline McKechnie, both of Lynn, Mass.; and his son James Bidwood Blair of Readfield.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Nathalie (Alexander) Blair; his children, Pauline Blair of Readfield, Wayne Blair of Lewiston, Chet Blair of Lewiston, daughter-in-law Candy Blair of Lewiston; grandchildren Luke, Porka, Mikey, Heather, Amber, Brandy, Ryan, Coco, Larissa and Zackary Blair; great-grandchildren, Jade Blair, Summer Blair, Connor Miner; and several other great-grandchildren.
He attended school in Gardiner until the eighth grade. His hobbies were fishing, hunting, flea markets, and lawn sales. He had lawn sales himself because he enjoyed talking to people. He was a self-employed laborer.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, Feb. 1, 2016, from 4-7 p.m. at Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Ave., Gardiner. Burial will be in the spring beside his son in the Libby Hill Cemetery, Gardiner.
