James K. Bickford Jr.
1966 - 2017
PITTSTON
- On Oct. 8, 2017, James K. Bickford Jr. passed away in Augusta as a result of a motorcycle accident. He was born on Jan. 10, 1966, in Gardiner, a son of James K. Sr. and Constance C. Mullen.
James graduated from Gardiner Area High School and was in the Maine National Guard for six years. Jim had many friends and would do anything for anybody with no questions asked.
Jim worked for McGee Construction in West Gardiner on and off for many years and spent his free time surrounded by family and friends.
Jim was predeceased by his brother David in 2013, his father James Sr. also in 2013, and his paternal and maternal grandparents.
He is survived by his best friend and mother of his children Lyn Thompson of Pittston; his son Nicholas Bickford and wife of Windsor, his daughter Kristina Bickford of Pittston; his mother Constance Dyer of Pittston, his stepmother Joan Bickford of Pittston; his first granddaughter Aunnalyn Bickford of Windsor; his sister Jane Haskell and her husband of Hallowell, his brother Jeff Bickford and his wife from Dresden, his brother Greg Bickford of Augusta, stepbrother Harold Dyer and wife of Pittston, Janet Morgan and husband of Pittston, Marie Dyer of Pittston, Sharon Gallant and husband of Augusta; many nieces, and nephews; along with his favorite riding buddy, Gary Chaplin of Pittston
Visiting hours will be held Saturday. Oct. 14, from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Pittston Fair Grounds followed by a service and celebration of his life, also at the fairgrounds.
Arrangements are under the care of Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Ave., Gardiner.
