Evelyn F. "Ev" Jackson
1959 - 2017
MANCHESTER - Evelyn F. "Ev" Jackson, 58, of Manchester, passed on Nov. 28, 2017, at Inland Hospital in Waterville. Ev was very much at peace when she went, wrapped in the warm glow of her family.
She was born March 24, 1959, to her parents, Donald Leslie and Trudy (More) Hair, in Staten Island, New York.
Ev attended Del Norte High School, in New Mexico. She earned a Bachelor of Science from Washington State University.
She moved to Maine in 2006 from Virginia. She worked as a registered dietitian at Inland Hospital in Waterville. In 2013, Ev married Brian Jackson, of Manchester.
Ev was a rare kind of person. Her genuine love and compassion for every single human being and animal was awe inspiring. She had a curious ability to fill a room with light and warmth that you always felt safe, even when she was being sassy and teasing you. Her kindness and open heart was in everything she did. Those close to her will know that she cherished her days under the sun, on the boat with her husband, friends and family. Ev exemplified what life can be and saw beauty in the little things. In a word, Ev was exquisite. To know her was an honor and an extreme pleasure.
She was predeceased by her father, Donald Leslie Hair.
Ev is survived by her husband, Brian Jackson; her son, Daniel Beliveau, wife Emily, and their daughter Rosemary, of Golden, Colo.; a daughter, Leslie Beliveau, of Old Town; stepdaughter, Melissa Hickey, and husband Chris, and their two sons, Gavin and Seamus, of Merrimack, N.H.; stepdaughter, Katie, and her son, Cameron, of Manchester; and her mother, Trudy Tracy, and husband Robert, of Ottawa, Canada.
Visiting hours will be held Sunday, Dec. 3, 2017, from 2-5 p.m. at the Knowlton & Hewins Funeral Home, One Church Street, Augusta, where a memorial service will be held Monday, Dec. 4, at 11 a.m., and members of the community are invited to join family and friends in celebrating Ev's life.
