Edward F. Gilblair
1968 - 2017

SKOWHEGAN - Heaven gained another angel on June 4, 2017, when Edward F. Gilblair, of Skowhegan, passed away due to complications during surgery. He was born Oct. 4, 1968, to Donald and Deanna Gilblair. He was a friend to many who share our loss.

Edward had a passion for NASCAR and loved driving stock cars at the local tracks with his son Eddie and wife Christie. Ed worked with his dad in construction for years before he took over the Gilblair & Son trucking business and ran with it until his health no longer allowed it. If anyone needed gravel, he was "Johnny on the Spot."

Ed also enjoyed cooking, camping, fishing, finding the best deals at the flea markets and most of all he enjoyed spending time with family, friends and his dogs Chico and Dusti.

Ed was well known for his quick wit, unique sense of humor and joking ability to "stir the pot" but also his caring and compassionate nature for his friends and family. He will be very sadly missed by many.

Ed is survived by his loving wife Christie; son Eddie, daughter Alisyn, stepdaughter Taylor Longstaff; grandaughter Stella Barrows; mother Deanna and Jim Provost, stepsisters Julie, Jennifer and Libby; father-in-law Stephen Foster and wife Janice, Wilmer and Marlene Redlevske; sisters-in-law Jacqueline Bentinnen and Katelyn Foster;several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Ed was predeceased by his dad Donald; grandparents Francis and Mary E. Gilblair and Clayton and Mary E. Brown; aunts Carol, Linda, Darleen and uncle Brian.

A special thanks to Paul and Carol Lamonica, Don and "Butch" Dennis Kinney for all your generous support, hospitality, assistance and compassion.

Services will be held on Saturday, June 17 at 11 a.m. at the Skowhegan Federated Church in Skowhegan with a gathering to follow. Rev. Mark Tanner will be Officiating.
