Daniel Matthew Comfort (Skip)
1959 - 2015
WATERVILLE - Daniel (Skip) Comfort, 55, passed peacefully with family and friends by his side on May 30, 2015. He was born on Dec. 24, 1959, in Brooklyn N.Y. Skip grew up and attended schools in Pittsfield.
He started working at the age of 10, working in chicken houses and delivering papers. At an early age, he moved to St. Louis where he was a jack-of-all-trades, eventually owning and operating his own contracting business. While living there, he developed a love for Cardinal baseball. His biggest and proudest accomplishment was his daughter Danielle and watching her grow into the beautiful person she is.
Skip loved hunting whitetails in Northwest Missouri with his friend Shane and his farmer friends and shooting with his friend Randy. He also truly loved fishing, hunting, boating and spending quality time with his twin brother, Clip at K.C. and Joe's camp.
Skip returned to Maine in 2011, working at 18 Below as an unforgettable server, he truly loved meeting and taking care of his guests. He will be sadly missed by his 18 Below family especially his girls Angela, Summer, and Emily. He will always be remembered for his many acts of kindness, loving spirit and his gentle way of caring for his family and friends.
Skip was predeceased by his father Kenneth; and survived by his daughter Danielle, her husband Brandon; and granddaughter Josephine; twin brother Clipper (Steve), siblings K.C. Christopher, Julie, John, Jeff, and Jennifer; stepmom Nancy, Mary, Sean, Tyler; and many nieces and nephews, he loved you all.
Family, friends and guests are invited to join us on Sunday, June 28, from 3-6 p.m. at 18 Below for Skip's Celebration of life.
