Dana Gamblin
1956 - 2016

FAIRFIELD - Dana Gamblin, 59, passed away unexpectedly on Jan. 27, 2016.

Dana was born at Waterville Seton Hospital on June 25, 1956. He was the son to the late Reginald Hubert Gamblin and Frances Jean (Moores). Dana attended schools in Fairfield and Clinton; and Derby, Seymour, and Meriden, Conn.

He worked at Gagnon's Restaurant in Fairfield, The Eating House as a cook, Huhtamaki in the Rough Finish and Chinet departments, and Poor Bob's where he serviced appliances.

Dana loved to play guitar and taught his sons Mike and Miah and others to play. He loved to fish and did that alot with his son Miah and brother-in-law Jim Vintinner and anyone who would go.

Dana was well known for playing 'knuckles' with the kids, especially his nephew Brian Ames. He had a great sense of humor and was always willing to lend a hand when needed as he was a good painter and an all-around do it your selfer.

Dana is survived by his sons, Michael and wife Courtney; and grandson Jace Gamblin of Windam, Jeremiah Gamblin of Vassalboro; sister Donna and husband James Vintinner Sr. of Oakland; his nephew Brian and wife Tammie Ames and their sons Brandon and Sean of Fairfield Center; his uncle Murray and aunt Edith Gamblin of Detroit and their children Diane LaSalle of Pittsfield, Linda and Chuck Bubier of Canaan, Larry and Karen Gamblin of Detroit, and Nancy and Paul Schwarz of Singer Island, Fla; and many other relatives on his father's side of the family.

Dana also leaves behind his special friend Jessica and her children Hunter and Brooklyn Vining.

Visiting hours are Saturday, Jan. 30, from 12-2 p.m. followed by a Funeral Service at Lawry Brothers Funeral Home, 107 Main Street, Fairfield. There will be a gathering immediately following the service at the Fairfield United Methodist Church, 37 Skowhegan Road, Fairfield.
