Cynthia D. Young
1934 - 2017
LITCHFIELD - Cynthia D. Young passed away suddenly at CMMC Lewiston, August 1, 2017. Born July 29, 1934, in Bowdoinham, to Richard and Hazel Denham. She was the youngest of two children.
She was a graduate of Brunswick High School in 1952, she lived her entire life in Bowdoinham moving to Litchfield in 1972. She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution. She worked as a secretary in several local schools, and recently at Cobbossee Colony Golf course.
She loved to read, do crossword puzzles, bird counting for the Maine Audubon society and caring for her dogs.
Cynthia was predeceased by her parents; her brother Raymond Denham, her husband Raymond Young; and daughter Jeanne Emery.
Cynthia is survived by her son Harold "Dee" Hobart and wife Linda of West Forks, daughter Joan Knowles and husband Irving of Litchfield, son-in-law Bob Emery of West Gardiner, stepsons Clifford and Billy Young and stepdaughter Sharon Nadeau; 12 grandchildren; many great and great-great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held at Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Ave, Gardiner, at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday August 6, 2017, with service to follow at 2:00 p.m.
