Cynthia (Cindy) Colburn Coombs
1947 - 2016
WINSLOW - Cynthia (Cindy) Colburn Coombs, 68, died on Feb. 10, 2016, after a hard fought battle, with her husband, Gene, by her side, at the Augusta Rehabilitation Center.
She was born in Waterville, Feb. 21, 1947, the daughter of Phil and Beatrice Colburn.
Cynthia graduated from Waterville High School. She was a server at Colby College for over 20 years, until her retirement in 2010.
Cynthia spent most of her time at her grandchildren's sporting events cheering each of them on. She is known as being one of the biggest fans in the stands. She was a member of the American Legion Unit 14 Auxiliary, where she served as the Lady's Auxiliary President for 2 years. They put it perfectly when they said that she will always be remembered for her quick wit, humor and smile. Three things she did not lose along her journey these last six months.
Cynthia is predeceased by her parents, Phil and Beatrice Colburn; and her sister, Sandra Lapierre.
She is survived by her husband, Gene Coombs; her four children, Tim Hall and wife Lisa of Cleveland, Tenn., Stephanie Haney and husband Bert of Canaan, Michael Coombs and wife Jody of Skowhegan, and Shaun Coombs and girlfriend Melissa Wildes of Winslow. She also has five beautiful grandchildren whom she loved so dearly, Megan and husband Dan Bizier, JT Haney, Haley and Dylan Coombs, Justin Hall, and Travis Coombs. Cynthia is also survived by her sister, Nancy Gagnon.
