Constance Lucille Paul
1924 - 2017
AUGUSTA - Constance (Connie) Lucille Paul, 93, formerly of North Vassalboro, passed away Saturday May 13, 2017, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston after a short illness. She was born in Waterville, April 14, 1924, the daughter of Ralph and Hope (Richards) Fitch, one of eleven children.
Connie was employed at Pratt and Whitney during World War II, making parts for airplanes. She later worked at Warden's and Beverly's Hallmark in Waterville and Deschaines Market in North Vassalboro. She spent the last several years living in Augusta.
She enjoyed camping with her family and friends, attending her sons' and daughter's softball games, and taking care of her grandchildren. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be greatly missed.
Connie was predeceased by her parents and her husband, James J. Paul.
She is survived by her sons, Timothy Paul and his wife, Diane, of Palermo and Raymond Paul, of Waterville; her daughter, Hope Souther, of Whitefield; two sisters, Sybil Saucier, of Florida and Ruthie McCallen, of Texas; two grandsons, Shawn and Kevin Paul; six granddaughters, Shelley O'Connell, Carrie Hatworth, Janna MacDonald, Laurie Kane-Lewis and Samantha and Jessica Souther; and 12 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Civic Center Drive in Augusta, Wednesday May 24, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. Arrangements are in the care of Knowlton and Hewins Funeral Home and Cremation Service, One Church Street, Augusta.
