Brandy S. Lilly-Bizier
1980 - 2018
WINSLOW - Brandy S. Lilly-Bizier - a.k.a. Brat, Mutt or Drunkflower. Oct. 8, 1980 - May 13, 2018.
So you want to know that I lived, huh?? Well I sure did! After a 13 hour labor and causing my father to start smoking, I came into the world kicking and screaming on Oct. 8, 1980. My folks were Mae (Truman) Mayo and James Lilly. I joined a brother and sister, Sarah and Greg (Thornton). We lived here and there then five years later another sister came along who was named Billiejo (Lilly). My parents parted ways and life took a new path. My mother married the best step-dad a girl could ask for, Mr. Sheridan Mayo. He brought me six more siblings, Valerie, Sharon, Michael, Vicki, Jeff and Christopher (Mayo). Then my dad married and gave me an incredible step-mom Rhonda JJ Lilly and she brought with her another brother, Scottie (aka John Scott Lacasse), then later Dad gave me Jon Tyler and Marshall Weeks for brothers! Over the years I attended schools in Gardiner, Whitefield, Windsor and then Erskine Academy. Erskine is where I met my husband my freshmen year, though we would not know it for many years to come.
I graduated high school in 1999 and in a whirlwind decision took off to Florida where I lived for a few years before completing the circle and returning to the chilly, yet lovable state of Maine in 2001 after my daddy came to my rescue. I partied, lived and worked over the next several years. Being young and having fun on the local music scene was my passion, till my step dad got sick in Sept 2005. When he passed in October of 2005, I lost a part of me and lost my best friend. I continued to work and live over the next several years, making choices that would move me to Bangor and Winterport, yet I returned home. Working took me on many paths, those of waitress, store clerk, pharmacy tech, cashier, all leading to my true destiny of caring for the elderly/healthcare. During all this time my siblings were getting married and popping out babies, but not me, no way was I squeezing a watermelon out my nostril!
In spring of 2011, I moved back home to my dad's, yet again. It was during this time I began hanging out with that guy I met my freshman year, the man that would become my husband, Christopher Bizier. We loved spending time at Spring Lake which we learned we both had spent summers at as kids, just a few camps apart. We realized the extended family members that we shared, and our shared passions of fishing, camping, hunting and the great outdoors. We married in the fall of 2013, true to our roots with a camo/outdoor wedding. We spent many summers at Spring Lake and Moosehead aka Margarita Ville. We fished and hunted together, enjoyed family outings and our many nieces and nephews together. I wore many hats as daughter, granddaughter, sister, cousin, niece, friend, caregiver, patient, wife, best friend, Aunt and "Auggie". These hats truly made my life complete. Knowing that you have truly impacted another's life in a giving way is the best gift a person can leave behind, and that I did in everyday that I lived.
I met so many people on life's journey, and some of them came and went while some of them stayed. Those who stayed saw parts of me I didn't dare show anyone else, they knew me inside and out. They say to have one true friend is fantastic, but I was fortunate enough to have more than one. I had five amazing friends that I could turn to no matter what and for that I thank them! Shawn Severance thank you for the many memorable New Years Eves spent together! Johnny Abney-Teakle, you were my rock when I was alone in Florida. Thank you for making me realize there was no way I could say Ranch was my favorite if I never tried French or Catalina!!! Bethany Koslowky & Jennifer Lannotti, thank you for our crazy girl times! I couldn't have chosen two better ladies to try tequila with for the first time! And last but definitely not least, Robert Searles. Where do I even begin?? The boat rides, the bike rides, the bike nites, the meeting of new people and trying new things! Thank you for getting me to expand my horizon and really take chances! Thank you for being you and letting me be me without judgement. You five gave me so many memories that I forever hold close to my heart, thank you for showing me what a real friend is, and for the brutal honesty that entailed including the occasional "WTF is wrong with you" when I needed it!!!
So that's how I lived, never having regrets cause I did what I wanted. You should never have regrets, just stepping stones in life from which you learn. I hope I have left many people with happy memories of which they will cherish, and that I helped prove that no matter the hand life deals you, life truly is what you make of it.
That being said; go celebrate my life and do not cry for me. Know that I am now free of pain and limitations and watching over you all. Know that I LIVED and LOVED the life that I lived.
A few that will be there to meet me at the gates are; My dog Duke, my Nana Leone, my grandparents Donna and Sherlock, my step-dad Sherry, my niece Jadika, my brother Jeff, my sister Betty Ann and my father in-law John.
