Archie Lemar
1943 - 2017
RANDOLPH - Archie Lemar, 74, of Randolph died Thursday, May 11, 2017 at the MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta. He was born May 10, 1943, the son of George and Ethel Conley Lemar.
Archie joined the USMC right after graduating from high school and served in Vietnam. He worked in the wood and worm digging industries for most of his life and loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and had a large garden every year. He was a member of the Richmond Sportsman Assoc., and won many awards as part of the State Trapshooting Team and the Biggest Bucks in Maine clubs. In his later years he enjoyed doing puzzles, planting his garden , lawn sales and spending time with his partner Lucinda Lemar and their dog Casey.
Archie was predeceased by his brothers Raymond, Lawrence and Robert (Bob) Lemar and sisters Mary Wilkinson, Gladys Meserve and Georgia Bryant. He is survived by his companion of 28 years Lucinda Lemar; his son Rick Lemar of Auburn and daughter Mary Lou Goddard of Dover N.H.; and his five grandchildren, Chelsea, Tammy, Elizabeth, Nicholas, Christopher and Megan; his partner's children, daughter Kim MacDonald, her husband David and their sons Matthew and Nathan MacDonald of West Gardiner, her son Lee Lemar, his wife Maureen and their daughter Sophia of Gardiner; his brothers John, Joe and his wife Linda, and David and his wife Priscilla Lemar, his sisters Annie Pratt, Ethel, husband Ernie Pettengill, Jerry Blake and Carol Lemar; and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Tuesday May 16, 2017 at Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Ave., Gardiner. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Dresden.
