Antoinette Beverly Zemrak
1932 - 2018
WINSLOW - Antoinette "Toni" Zemrak passed away on Feb. 11, 2018, at Oak Grove Nursing Home in Waterville. She was born in Waterville on April 1, 1932, the daughter of Joseph Philip and Belzemire Veilleux.
Toni grew up and attended school in Winslow and graduated from Winslow High School in 1950. She and her husband of 65 years, Robert, were married on Sept. 6, 1952, and together they had five children.
Toni worked at the Federal Trust Bank right out of high school for many years. She then opened a daycare in her home and cared for hundreds of children for more than 20 years. After retiring from being a daycare provider, she opened Antoinette's Bridal Boutique on Main Street in Waterville. She ran the business until her full retirement. At that time she devoted her time to her grandchildren.
Toni enjoyed traveling. After her husband's retirement, they took 2 ½ months to travel the country. She loved her many trips to California, New York City, Myrtle Beach, Florida and Hawaii. Her longest destination trip was her trip to Japan.
Toni is survived by her loving husband, Robert; her children, Gary and his wife Brenda, Brian and his wife Cathy, Laurie Levasseur and her husband Jim, Vicki Harding and her husband Jeff, and Derek and his wife Kaori; her nine grandchildren, Jodi (Chad), Mindy, Wesley (Maureen), Jenna, Brittany (Sam), Michael (Danielle), Tyler (Lindsey), Katrina and Reno; and her seven great-grandchildren, Cole, Caitlin, Alina, Grady, Mara, Charlotte, Isla and an 8th great-grandchild expected in June. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
At her request there will be no visiting hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, Feb. 16, 11 a.m., at St. John Catholic Church in Winslow.
The family would like to thank the staff at Oak Grove, with special thanks to Janis, Cacilda, Rae Ann, Hayley, Darlene and many others for their wonderful tender care given to Toni. And also a heartfelt thank you to the care providers with Hospice.
