Anne M. Sheridan
1941 - 2016
LANSDALE, Pa. - Anne M. Sheridan of Lansdale, Pa., and formerly of Vernon, Conn., passed away peacefully on Friday afternoon, Jan. 8, 2016, surrounded by her family. She was 74.
Anne is survived by her husband of 48 years, Richard Sheridan, and was the loving mother of Lisa Hendricks (David) of Doylestown, Pa., and Kevin Sheridan of Washington, D.C. She was the loving grandmother of Kyle and Megan Hendricks. Anne is also survived by her sister, Sue Miller of Auburn, and her brother Robert Miller (Judy) of Manchester, Conn.
Anne was born to the late Ervin and Barbara Miller and grew up in Augusta. She moved to Auburn for her senior year of high school, graduating from Edward Little High School in 1960. Anne graduated from St. Joseph's College in Standish with a degree in elementary education in 1964, and attained a masters of education from Central Connecticut State University in 1968. Anne moved to West Hartford, Conn., after college, where she met her husband Richard and began a teaching career that would span 43 years. In 1973 they moved to Vernon where Anne lived for 37 years.
Anne's passion was teaching, and she loved all the school children who came through her classroom. She especially adored teaching children to read, and also passed down her love of reading to her grandchildren. Most recently she was a teacher at Lake Street Elementary School in Vernon where she taught for 22 years before retiring in 2007. Anne also enjoyed many summers with her sister Sue, at their home in Wells. She loved the ocean and her long walks on the beach. In recent years Anne was fortunate to live in Pennsylvania near her daughter and grandchildren. Known as Nana to Kyle and Megan, she was a devoted grandmother and they were the light of her life.
Anne's life will be celebrated at a funeral Mass at St. Bartholomew's Church, 45 Ludlow Rd., Manchester, Conn., on Friday, Feb. 5, at 11 a.m., followed by a reception in the church hall.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in Anne's memory to benefit the Lake St. School library:
