SKOWHEGAN -- Sharlene Anne Sawyer, 65, died Monday, May 13, 2013, at Redington-Fairview General Hospital with her family by her side. She was born on May 20, 1947, in Skowhegan, the daughter of John George and Alice Marie (Goodrich) Dominski.

On Nov. 29, 1969, she married Roderick Sawyer in Skowhegan. For many years she owned and operated Ma's Taxi, tended bar at Midtown and spent most of her life being a beloved wife and Mom to her own children and lots of neighborhood children. She was also a past member of the Eagles Club, loved collecting knickknacks and adored her friends and family.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Roderick Sawyer, of Skowhegan; three sons, Robert J. Dominski and wife Brenda, of Anson, Timothy J. Sawyer and partner Tonia Stadig, of Skowhegan, and Duane E. Sawyer, of Skowhegan; a daughter, Lousie Johnson and husband Bryan, of Indianapolis, Ind.; stepdaughter Tina M. Pray and husband Steve, of Glenburn; six grandsons, Philip Hogate, of Oregon, Gregory Hogate, of South Carolina, Dillan J. Dominski, of Anson, Nathan L. Sawyer, of Fairbanks, Alaska., Dustin E. Sawyer, of Skowhegan, and Zechariah D. Sawyer, of Skowhegan; granddaughter Makenzie Stadig, of Skowhegan; two daughters-in-law, Kelly Demmons-Knight and partner Tony Martin, of Madison, and Tina Stadig, of Skowhegan. She was predeceased by her parents; and grandson Joshua J. Sawyer.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
