Samuel M. Bowker Sr.

AUGUSTA - Samuel M. Bowker Sr., 80, passed away suddenly on May 5, 2014, at MaineGeneral Medical Center, Augusta, with his loved ones by his side. His battle with cancer was short-lived, but his love for his family and friends will live on forever.

Sam, as everyone knew him, was a veteran of the Marine Corps and enjoyed the outdoors.

Sam loved to garden and was always seen in his vegetable garden all summer long. He always enjoyed a good game of cribbage with his best friends, and had plenty of time to talk about his best man at his wedding and longtime friend of 64 years, Don Seabridge. He also enjoyed dinner and time spent with his friend Pastor Tom and his wife, Denise.

Sam will always be loved and dearly missed by all his family and friends. May the Lord bless and protect you always, Dad.

Sam is survived by his wife, Barbara, of 59 years; his four children, Samuel Bowker Jr., Saundra (Keith) Johnson, Robert (Donna) Bowker and Richard (Rhonda) Bowker; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Sam loved animals, especially his dog, Brandi, who passed a few years prior.
